Greetings!

The Gundagai Local Phone Book 2010 compiled by the Gundagai Preschool Kindergarten is on sale now.

There is an important Pink Ribbon event coming up on Thursday the 3rd of December at Nargoon Estate. There will be a private showing by simply beautiful collections of clothing, gourmet food ranges and stunning giftware suppliers. If you would like more information, please contact Erica Beggs on 0407 293 684 or Sarah Triggs on (02) 6948 4122.

Robert Gunn from the Italian Connection Touring Assembly, formally known as the Italian Connection Trophy, met with Council officials and myself today. The rally will be stopping over in Gundagai again on Friday night 21 May 2010.

The rally raises much needed money for the Duchenne Foundation in Australia which raises funds to support vital research towards the elusive cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

DMD occurs when there is a mistake in the gene responsible for producing dystrophin, the protein that maintains the structure of our muscle membrane.

'Genetic' does not mean it is confined to certain family trees. In over a third of cases the genetic mutation happens spontaneously, without any previous family history. DMD affects one in every 3,300 boys across the globe. DMD has a 100% fatality rate.

I will be competing in the rally in 2010. The stopover includes a dinner which the community is most welcome to attend and a Motorkhana competition on the Saturday morning before departure. It is a great, fun event. You can get involved by sponsoring my car, selling Blue Ball merchandise or by making a donation. We have set the ambitious target of $100,000 from Sydney to Melbourne.

More information will be available on the Italian Connection website: www.italianconnection.com.au or my website in the upcoming months.

The Gundagai Shire Council website has had a recent facelift as part of the local-e upgrade. Please have a look. If you have any feedback, please email me with your ideas and suggestions. What do you expect to be able to find/access on this site as a ratepayer, resident or visitor.

Remember the Gundagai Business Houses Group Plaza night is coming up again on the Thursday December 17, 2009. Want to get involved? Contact Penny Nicholson at the Newsagency or Kathy Tuckwell at the NRMA.

Regards,

William.
